Safety National Performs First Annual Day of Service

2013 marked Safety National’s first official Day of Service, where the Company offered time off to employees to volunteer in the community. In unison with the United Way, 207 employees donated 621 hours of total service at local agencies, including Crisis Nursery, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Louis Area Food Bank, St. Joseph’s Institute for the Deaf, St. Louis Arc, YMCA, Cardinal Ritter Senior Services and St. Vincent Home for Children.

“For years, Safety National has done an admirable job of volunteering in our community and we will still continue to do that throughout the year,” said Mark Wilhelm, CEO. “Reflecting on our corporate Core Values, we decided it was time to launch a company-wide day of service each year so that employees could have a day where nothing conflicts with their ability to give back.”

By the numbers, Safety National’s first annual Day of Service was a success:

  • 207 employees volunteered
  • 621 hours of service were donated
  • 95,000 meals were provided for the needy
  • 2,000 resale items were organized to benefit the less fortunate
