Perform thorough inspection and methodical examination of all Commercial Automobile, General Liability, Excess and Primary Workers’ Compensation system changes released to the various testing environments for proper operation and freedom from defects. This process will follow all prescribed Quality Assurance rules and testing guidelines. Reports directly to the Delivery manager of his team.
Thorough testing of assigned TargetProcess artifacts for scheduled and emergency system releases.
Participate in assigned projects, establishing Test Cases based on requirements and project meetings.
Accurately assess and “point” User Stories and Defects from a work effort standpoint.
Create, maintain, update and document comprehensive Test Cases using the formalized test case strategy. Use TargetProcess to analyze requirements to assist in testing process
Maintain comprehensive supporting documentation relating to the testing process. This includes rating worksheets, print screens, email correspondence and copies of the final testing results. Enters all supporting documentation related to the testing process into applicable TargetProcess tickets
Assists in the creation and publish or assist in the creation and publication of System Release Notes to advise users of system changes, updates and enhancements.
As assigned by the Delivery manager of his team, validate work of other QA Testers to insure that testing has covered all aspects of a particular issue and to provide a second opinion that an issue has been corrected in the system. Participates in training new QA personnel
Respond to user problems in the test and production environments
Handle tickets related to reported system bugs/problems in the IMS V2 system. Assist in the systematic process to correct bugs, following standard testing methods, ultimately delivering fixes to the end user.
Develop in-depth Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge in areas assigned and share this knowledge with other QA members.
Create and maintain user/system documentation as assigned by Managers.
Assist in the assembly of Rating/Pricing Model testing materials and testing of the Rating/Pricing Models.
As necessary, works with other SNCC employees or outside contractors to find answers to issues impacting a system environment. Act as a liaison between the developers and the end users.
Maintain working knowledge of departmental functions with user areas being supported by IMS Excess, IMS Primary/Large Casualty and WINS; understands key business process flows in order to test from the user perspective.
Monitors all open IMS V2 issues via TargetProcess.
Participate in the creation and regular maintenance of unit workflow and systems documentation. Assists in the implementation of new or changes to existing procedures.
Assist in the creation of SSRS Reports, queries and other related reports over various databases at the direction of manager.
Education/Experience (Must meet at least one of the following criteria)
A Bachelor’s degree or Associates Degree in I.T. related field
A minimum of 1 year of working experience in I.S. or related field
Possess one or more approved Certifications within job area
Good written, analytical, problem solving and verbal communication skills.
Familiar with Program Management Processes
Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
Ability to work in a team environment
Motivated, self-directed, results-oriented, and customer-focused
Detail oriented and possess a desire for quality
P & C Insurance experience a plus
Understanding of software development life cycles (agile, waterfall, iterative)
Must have tact and diplomacy in maintaining cooperative relationships
Knowledge of automated testing software (especially Selenium) very helpful
Knowledge of TargetProcess software desirable
Knowledge related to SSRS Reports, Query, SQL or other reporting tools is a plus
Understanding of the following techniques is helpful: UML (Unified Modeling Language), process flows, use cases, and Systems Development Life Cycle.
