JOB SUMMARY:

Learning & Development Manager manages all activities in support of training, education, and employee development, under the supervision of the Vice President-Human Resources.

Designs, implements, and evaluates the organization’s learning and development courses and programs which support key business functions.

Maintain a current view on training trends and directions and introduce innovative techniques.

Facilitate learning and development sessions using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as team exercises, group discussions, videos and lectures.

Analyze training needs of the organization, identify gaps, develop training plans, and implement within budget.

Assess employee training requirements and design programs to meet employee career development needs.

Build and maintain close relationships with key stakeholders within business units, providing needs based training consultation to maximize training effectiveness and organizational benefit.

Work collaboratively to align technical insurance training in business units with overall enterprise training strategy.

In collaboration with the Vice President-Human Resources, evaluate and manage external training vendors and training content.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Special projects, as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor degree required with a strong background in adult education preferred. Master degree in adult education, instructional design, or online learning is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience actively training individuals engaged in a professional services environment. Experience in instructional development, design, and delivery is also required.

Must possess strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact with employees with a high level of diplomacy and effectiveness, and be an innovative leader with the ability to translate strategic thinking into actionable plans and results.

The individual must maintain confidentiality, remain open to others’ ideas and exhibit a willingness to try new things.

Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills and conduct meetings.

Able to manage change in the work environment, manage competing demands and be able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
