Experienced professional, responsible for administering all aspects of reinsurance placement and analysis in concert with the Treaty Committee. The individual will also be responsible for supervision of the Ceded Reinsurance Staff. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Report directly to the Vice President Ceded Reinsurance in matters outside authority level.

Serve as back up for the Vice President Ceded Reinsurance.

Serve as the Ceded Re contact for product development.

Serve as the Ceded Re contact for Policy Center development.

In collaboration with the Vice President—Ceded Re, actively seek reinsurance solutions.

Approve the finalization of reinsurance contracts.

Participant and/or Chair of strategic and tactical plan initiatives.

Provide necessary support to various departments on Ceded Reinsurance issues.

Actively monitor and provide direction for all Ceded Reinsurance related transactions.

Provide necessary reinsurance education and reinsurance program understanding to non-reinsurance departments.


Actively manage and develop reinsurance department staff providing opportunity for professional growth and building bench strength of the department.

Develop and maintain close relationships with key stakeholders with the organization and appropriately represent the organization to the reinsurance partners.

Special projects, as assigned.


Bachelor Degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred.

Minimum of 10 years in direct reinsurance placement experience, to include Finance/Accounting/Audit experience, along with management experience.

ARe designation is required.

Insurance designations are a plus (CPCU)

Must possess strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact with employees with a high level of diplomacy and effectiveness, and be an innovative leader with the ability to translate strategic thinking into actionable plans and results.

Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills and conduct meetings.

Able to manage change in the work environment, manage competing demands and be able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.

Ability to interpret contracts and negotiate effectively.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.
