This opportunity is in the Business Development Department.

The Business Development department prides itself in being highly visible and is charged with building the Safety National brand with brokers and prospective clients.  To achieve revenue goals within the designated territory, we collaborate with underwriting, risk services and various other value added teams to deliver all of what Safety national has to offer. This is an addition to staff, made necessary by our recent growth, expanding capabilities and goals to grow more meaningfully within the NY Metro marketplace.

Role Description:

In the role of Account Executive for our New York Metro territory, you will be part of our Business Development team whose primary role is cultivate relationships with production sources in order to drive growth.  To do so, you will collaborate with underwriting partners and other key stakeholders within the company to deliver Safety National’s value and capabilities. Your contributions of sourcing and servicing key accounts in a high profile territory will make a direct and significant impact at Safety National’s bottom line goals.

Your primary responsibilities as an Account Executive are to source and pursue new business within your assigned territory and oversee a renewal book of business. You will also be required to develop and execute complex business strategies in support of your territory’s goals.

The ideal candidate is someone with proven success in commercial insurance distribution, who has polished professional communication skills and is a strong representation of Safety National and our Core Values. Intimate knowledge of the commercial insurance brokers’ network and a candidate with established relationships within would be preferred. Prior experience with an enterprise level Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system or other sales support software such as, Salesforce, is also desired.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced Education in the fields of business, marketing, analytics, finance or risk management strongly preferred.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years or more years of experience in commercial insurance or other related industry
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of commercial insurance brokers network
  • Proven ability to be present a persuasive value proposition
  • Strong organizational and collaboration skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel on a frequent basis, as much as 50%
  • Willingness to adhere to a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week of work in our lower Manhattan office or visiting clients
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Prior experience with an enterprise CRM

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Workers’ Compensation and loss sensitive casualty insurance products
  • Prior experience in a production role
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce

In our vision to be First with Co-Workers, compensation is only one piece of the comprehensive total rewards package we offer. The target salary range for this position is $158,750 to $255,000. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
